Beavis and Butthead is probably my guiltiest of pleasures. I really do feel like I get dumber when I’m watching an episode, and the feeling lasts for a good while after. But aside from the title characters’ stupidness, the show can be incredibly smart between its satire of today’s culture and the amazing way that B&B will screw up other people’s lives just by being oblivious and idiotic. Not to mention I love the organic look of the animation, and I’m so glad they kept that in this new season even though it’s digitally animated now; it still looks like a 90s, hands-on cartoon. Plus it makes me want to just make my own short little cartoons that don’t have that much of a point and are just fun to watch. Whether or not the show has a lasting effect of making me dumber, I guess I don’t really care that much. It’s kind of blissful anyway.
